Abstract
Understanding of mechanical properties at nano-scale is of importance across broad spectrums of industrial, biomedical, and energy applications. For instance, the mechanical properties of polymer binder play an important role in cycling performance of lithium-ion batteries. Also, alteration of mechanical properties of collagen can significantly affect cell behavior. To measure the nanomechanical properties of a target material, selection and use of an appropriate approach is critical.
