Recent Development of Dry Metal Forming
- Abstract
- Dry metal forming (DMF) is a promising candidate for a sustainable metal forming process with economic and ecological benefits. For successful DMF, it is essential to adopt appropriate strategies to issues such as dry forming tools and lubrication. Even though DMF strategies have been actively investigated regarding structure design and surface coatings, there is still insufficient data to implement DMF in relevant industrial applications. Therefore, this paper reviews the research to date on the development of DMF and provides a comprehensive reference to promote the implementation of DMF as a substitute to metal forming processes with conventional lubrication systems.
