Abstract
영양이 정상인의 성장발달을 증진시키는 중요한 역할을 한다는 것은 이미 잘 알려진 사실이며 영양교육을 실시함으로써 영양결핍등 영양장애를 사전에 방지할 수 있음이 강조되고 있다.

식생활 향상을 위하여서는 현재의 식생활에 대한 과학적인 평가가 필요하며 이는 영양실태 조사를 통하여 이루어질 수 있다.

이 보고에서는 남자대학생들??(19세~24세) 대상으로 알코올 섭취와 음식물의 섭취상태를 면담과 설문지를 통하여 검토해 보았다.

조사의 결과로서는 남자대학생의 알코올 섭취는 건강에 장애를 끼칠 정도로 심각하지는 않았다. 그러나 조사의 다른 결과는 남자대학생들이 자신의 식습관이나 건강관리에 별로 신경을 쓰고 있지 않는 것으로 나타나 있어 이들이 장기간에 걸쳐 알코올을 섭취할 경우 중년에 이르러 알코올로 인한 질병이 발생할 우려가 있다고 생각된다.

그러므로 이들에 대한 영양교육을 실시함으로써 올바른 식습관을 형성하도록 계몽함이 바람직하다고 본다.
Nutrition has long been recognized as important in promoting normal human growth and development, and nutrition education has historically addressed the task of preventing or reversing general and specific nutritional deficiencies. The scientific evaluation of dietary behavior must be needed to improve dietary behavior(food habits), and it can be done by a nutritional survey.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the food habits of male college students related to alcohol intake through personal interview and questionnaire. The 74 students in this study ranged in age from 19 to 24 years. The results obtained are summarized as follows. The problem of alcohol intake in male college students was not serious, but they were less responsive to their food habits and health condition. Judging from this point they will be more vulnerable to disease which is related to alcohol intake on their middle age if they keep on taking alcohol. And this study suggests that nutrition education will be needed to them to make intelligent food choices and to establish healthful dietary practices.
