ADAPTIVE INTERFERENCE COORDINATION WITH RELAY FUNCTIONIN LTE HETEROGENEOUS NETWORKS
- Abstract
- In this thesis, we enhance almost blank subframe (ABSF) algorithm in LongTerm Evolution (LTE) heterogeneous network (HetNet) by considering a relay function. Despite the fact that ABSF effectively mitigates the intercell interference, it has two major disadvantages. First, ABSF changes the scheduling policy of macro base stations. Second, it degrades the capacity of users served by femto base stations. Our proposed algorithm applies a relay function to assist victim macro users (VMUEs)and improve the side effects caused by ABSF. Taking resource allocation and power control into account, the relay function is deployed to assist VMUEs in such a way that the interference left on other users is minimized. Via simulation results, the proposed algorithm exhibits improvements of 18% and 8% of system throughput and users’ satisfaction in comparison with conventional ABSF, respectively.
