한국의 대부분의 도시의 불량지역 및 노후지역에 대한 재개발 계획은 오래전부터 계획, 시행되어 왔으나 계획과정에서 포함해야할 여러 변수를 체계적이고 충분히 고려하지 못하기 때문에 재개발사업시 많은 문제를 초래하게 되는데 Computerized Urloan Renewal Experiment에 의해 계획시 최적해를 합리적으로 구할 수 있어 계획적에 비교적 충분한 검토를 할 수 있는 장점이 확보된다.
