Infuence of Interference and Noise on Indoor Localization Systems

Abstract
Recently, visible light based positioning systems have been a promising solution for indoor environment. The outstanding advantages of this positioning method are the very high accuracy and low installation cost. However, one of the most serious limitations of an indoor positioning system using visible light is to maintain the stability of positioning accuracy despite the interference from unavoidable noise and interference sources such as Gaussian noise, multipath re?ection. In this paper, we are the ?rst to analyze and demonstrate the effects of all the above-mentioned noises in a typical simulation environment using Matlab/Simulink. Differences in experimental results with and without separate types of noise, as well as the in?uence of multiple noises at the same time, are analyzed in detail in the paper.
